Mer-Cer
Book One of The Fracture Series. A psychological thriller. Coming Spring 2027.
Sloane Mercer doesn’t rattle. A senior partner once called her the glacier and meant it as a complaint. She kept it as a compliment.
After six hours deposing financier Richard Voss, all she wants is a bath and silence. Instead, a blizzard buries the city, her hotel upgrades her to a suite with a shared common room, and the guest on the other side of it is Rook Callahan: the investigative reporter she walked away from five years ago.
Rook has spent a year inside Voss’s operation. He has sources she can’t reach, a paper trail running through shell companies and a respected charitable foundation, and a notebook he never lets out of his sight. Snowed in together, they start pulling at the same thread.
But the thread runs deeper than fraud, and older than either of them. And the closer Sloane gets to the truth, the less certain she becomes about what she can trust, including her own mind.
The truth is in the details.
So is the deception.
